Fort Severn is located on the southern coastline of Hudson Bay and isthe most northerly community in Ontario. There are nor roads to this very remotre First Nations Community. The only access is by air from departure points such as Pickle Lake, Red Lake, Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.
The only reason for sportsmen to visit this community would be for potential goose hunts. However due to the large number of goose hunters that have been coming to Fort Severn each year and the impact it is having on the geese and the environment, the Fort Severn First Nations Band may be restricting goose hunts in the area to a much smaller scale.
If you are interested in planning a goose hunt to Fort Severn, your best advise is to contact the Band Office directly for current status and availability of accommodations and guides.
